Momentum Builds Case Study

Momentum is a Seattle based General Contractor specializing in building credit union facilities. Momentum and Cassell have been working together for roughly 20 years, starting when MB purchased Sage Estimating and needed training and database customization for estimating their focused project types in the financial sector.

When MB purchased Procore Project Management, it was quickly discovered that the two powerful softwares don’t have a built-in transfer between them. Cassell built a custom application that populates the Procore budget codes from the Sage Estimate, saving hours of redundant, error-prone manual data entry.

Once that was in place, it was noticed that Sage Jobcost requires manual checkbox entry for each cost code in a project to flag it as “started.” On projects with often 100 or more cost codes, this also was a frustrating waste of valuable contract administration time.

Cassell built a simple custom app that flags all Jobcost codes as “started,” performing the task in about a minute. A custom analytics and bid performance tool is currently under discussion.
